How it works

A clear rollout, from first visit to go-live

We handle metering, software setup and resident onboarding, and stay on for support afterwards.

  1. Survey & proposalA site visit to understand your supply, DG arrangement, existing meters and billing rules.
  2. Installation & setupMeters installed and commissioned; units, tariffs and subscriptions configured.
  3. Go-live & onboardingResidents invited to the app; the facility team and committee trained.
  4. Support & maintenanceHelpdesk escalation, meter health monitoring and annual maintenance.
What we need from you

Getting ready

Most of the preparation is information your facility team already has.

  • Unit list — towers, flats, shops and offices with their types and areas.
  • Resident contacts — owner and tenant names, mobile numbers and emails.
  • Billing rules — electricity tariffs, DG rate, fixed charges and maintenance rates.
  • Supply policy — what should happen when a balance runs out, approved by the committee.
  • Opening balances — any dues or advances to carry over from the current system.
Questions committees ask

Frequently asked questions

Do we need to replace our existing meters?
It depends on the meters. Prepaid billing needs smart meters that can be read remotely. During the survey we check what's installed and tell you what can be reused.
What happens if a resident's balance runs out at night?
Your committee decides the policy. Common choices are a grace period, an emergency credit, or no disconnection on nights and holidays. Residents are alerted well before the balance runs out.
Can some residents stay postpaid?
Yes. A society can have prepaid and postpaid subscriptions side by side, for example for senior citizens or particular unit types.
How do residents pay?
Through the app or web login, using UPI, cards or net banking through a secure payment gateway. Payments reflect in the balance automatically.
Who handles complaints after go-live?
Your facility manager is the first point of contact for residents. Issues that need us — meter faults, payment reconciliation, software questions — escalate to the SmartCommunity support team.
Who owns the data?
The society's billing and consumption data belongs to the society. Reports can be exported at any time.
